I'm starting to see some physical changes from the paleo challenge. My jeans are getting loose, and I've had to go down two holes on my belt. I got on the scale today and I'm down 9 lbs. from three weeks ago. I still feel kind of crappy sometimes in the afternoons (weakness, headaches), but I think my body is getting used to not having sweet things everyday. The lbs. are coming off fast working out with Rafael up in Tampa, he is kicking my ass with his workouts he comes up with. Some of the stuff he comes up with is pretty nuts, but I can't complain because I'm getting stronger and seeing excellent results.

Ok, full disclosure on the food blog today. Today, I indulged myself and went to Bennett's and had myself a delicious warm glazed donut and some coffee. It was a premeditated cheat because I've been looking forward to it all week, and it was worth it. I've been pretty good in the paleo challenge so far, several minor cheats but nothing as major as a donut until today. I figured if you only have so many cheats you want to commit, you might as well make it worth it and choose something that you will really enjoy. For me, that is a glazed donut from Bennetts. I just can't imagine how many donuts I would have eaten if I had realized how good their donuts are when I worked literally 50 yards away from Bennetts at my old office location. It probably would have been an everyday visit.

2/1 - Day One of the Paleo Challenge
The goal that I have decided on for myself for the Paleo Challenge is to get leaner. I want to be able to 6 dead hang pullups in a row instead of the three in a row that I currently can do. Since I do not want to lose even an ounce of muscle, I'm going to set a reasonable and realistic goal of trimming down from 194lbs to 182lbs. I think that this goal is realistic but will still be challenging enough so that I will have to eat a very clean paleo diet with only a few minor cheat meals.
We are also putting our cats on a paleo diet, as they have some extra pounds to lose. We purchased a high protein / low carb cat food yesterday that is as close to a natural meat diet as you can get w/out giving them actual meat. So we will see what they look like in a couple of months!
5 AM - Banana
8 AM - 4 Scrambled eggs
8AM - Coffee with cream
10AM - Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries
Noon - Avgolemono soup (eggs, chicken, chicken stock, lemons)
2PM - raspberries, blueberries, blackberries
2PM - walnuts
6PM - salmon & broccoli
7PM - broccoli, cauliflower, & carrots
